Meet Wendy Shapiro

Charles Eames, an American Designer said, “Choose your corner, pick away at it carefully, intensely and to the best of your ability, and that way you might change the world.”

Shapiro hopes to spark that creativity in each scholar to begin the process. This is her first year at Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School as the Art Teacher for 7th-12th grade. Wendy has been teaching design for more than ten years. Shapiro received her BA from Millersville University in Pennsylvania and her MFA from San Diego State University in California. Wendy has a creation in the permanent collection at the Mingei Museum and one in the Special Collections at the SDSU Library in San Diego, California.

Shapiro enjoys spending time kayaking, biking, being creative, and she knows how to juggle. Ms. Shapiro is excited to see the masterpieces the scholars create.
