New NIL Guidelines Open Opportunities for Student-Athletes in Indiana
Indiana has officially entered a new era in high school athletics with the approval of new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rules by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).
These guidelines allow student-athletes to build their personal brand and earn compensation through opportunities such as endorsements, camps, appearances, and social media engagement — all while maintaining athletic eligibility.
With these new opportunities come important responsibilities. Under IHSAA guidelines, student-athletes:
- May not use school logos, uniforms, or facilities in NIL activities
- May not receive compensation tied to athletic performance or recruiting
- Must ensure all NIL agreements are compliant and properly disclosed
At Tindley Accelerated Schools, we view this as an opportunity to support student-athletes beyond the game. This initiative is not just about financial opportunity, but about teaching leadership, professionalism, and decision-making skills that will prepare students for success beyond athletics.
Additional information will be shared as guidance continues to evolve.
