Family Involvement at Tindley
At Tindley, the involvement of each student’s family is of paramount importance. That’s why we ask every Tindley family to contribute 50 hours of family service per year. That’s just five hours per month, and can be contributed by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and/or adult siblings of the student.

- Homeless Children – If you live in any of the following situations: in a Shelter; in a Motel or campground due to lack of accommodation; in a car, park, abandoned building or bus/train station; doubled up with other people due to loss of housing or economic hardship – you may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Act. School Lunch - Our school nutrition department participates in the National School Lunch Program and implements Offer versus Serve. Offer versus Serve allows students to decline some of the food offered as part of a complete meal. The goals of Offer versus Serve are to reduce food waste in the school nutrition programs and to allow students more customization of the meal they select.
