Meet Ms. Carruthers (Ms. Myla)

Myla Carruthers joined the Tindley family to spread positivity, authenticity and to share a newfound love for Substitute Teaching as the Building Substitute here at Tindley. She knows that all students have individuality and have their own personal way of understanding people and life itself. Upon graduating with an Associate Degree in Psychology from Vincennes University, Myla has worked with all ages in different environments, for example 4 years of Youth Residential Facility experience and Mentoring. In her free time, Myla finds joy in being creative and making others feel beautiful as she is a Licensed Cosmetologist and enjoys competing in Fantasy Hair Shows and has competed in 2 major hair shows (Ex. Bronner Brothers). She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, empowering our youth, and playing video games. Her favorite subject is Science and working with hands on experiments, currently she is majoring in Social Work at IUPUI in Indianapolis and hopes to see where her journey will take her.
