Meet Ms. Shepard

Ms. Lexi Shepard serves as the 9th and 10th Grade English/Language Arts teacher and also teaches Japanese as an elective course. As a dedicated educator with a passion for language, literature, and global learning, Lexi studied both English Education and Japanese Education at Ball State University. Her academic journey also includes studies at Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana University Kokomo, and Sapporo University.

With a strong interest in Japanese language and culture, Lexi studied abroad at Sapporo University (札幌大学) in Hokkaido, Japan, and gained valuable experience in cross-cultural education whilst tutoring English overseas. Lexi's academic excellence was recognized with distinction as a Top 100 Student at Ball State in 2024 and a Top 25 Student in 2025.

In the classroom, Lexi strives to foster critical thinking, creativity, and cultural awareness, encouraging students to explore diverse perspectives through both language and literature. She looks forward to an impactful year of learning and growth at Tindley!
