Meet Dr. Mimms

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Dr. Mimms is the 2nd youngest of 9 children to God-fearing parents who taught God first, family, education, then friendship. The rod was not spared, and the children were all held accountable for all actions. The entire family sings, plays instruments, plays sports, and all went to college. Although most people assumed that he would become a famous singer, Dr. Mimms decided to become a doctor instead. He graduated with a major in Biology, a minor in Chemistry and Psychology from Wabash College. The next 10 years after college were rigorous with medical school and general surgery residency. Dr. Mimms also gravitated towards entrepreneurship and started running businesses in 2013. He owns and is CEO of a weight loss clinic, a med spa, and real estate businesses.  He has always dedicated his life to lifelong learning and teaching. He started a mentoring program from K through 12 in 1997 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He also taught an adjunct Anatomy Class from 2000 to 2005. He then started teaching clinical medicine to medical students, nurses, medical assistants, and resident doctors. In private practice, Dr. Mimms continued to teach physician assistant students from Butler University as well as medical students from Marion University. He relishes the opportunity to transition teaching in a classroom and plans to build a premed group for those who are interested in the medical field. He Lives by the verse that says ‘to whom much is given, much Is required, “as he gives back to his community while continuously achieving in life.
